The Zenata area currently registers around 200 industrial activities that are scattered and various in sizes. Disorganisation and low access to different networks (roads, electricity, sewerage systems etc.) is not leading to their development or to the improvement of competitiveness.
These activities are nonetheless major assets for the New City of Zenata as value, wealth and employment generators and will therefore benefit from an in situ industrial relocation program launched by the Zenata Company on a dedicated and subsidized zone of 69 ha (idem).
This modern industrial zone is specifically sized to host existing activities. It will allow restructuring the existing industrial fabric thereby respecting national technical and environmental norms. Construction has started in October 2012.
In January 2014, progress has reached 65%, A first section of 50 ha will be delivered in the course of 2014.
