Zenata will be a modern and dynamic service based city mainly destined to emerging classes. It will create 100 000 jobs and house 300 000 inhabitants, in accordance with the international sustainable development ratio of 1 job for 3 inhabitants.
Zenata will also be a city of human scale, allowing reconnecting with the advantages of real neighbourhood life. The development of the New City of Zenata is characterized first and foremost by the creation of four symbolic high added value activities concentrated in productivity hubs. These wealth and value generating activities represent drivers for growth necessary for sustainable urban development :
- An integrated health unit of 10 ha
- An education unit dof 20 ha
- A pan-regional commercial unit comprising 120 000 square metres GLA (Ground Leasing Aera) on 25 ha (idem). Set for 2017, it will include businesses and leisure centres mainly targeting middle income families.
- A logistical unit of 200 ha (idem) launched by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI on May 2010 and spearheaded by the National Agency for Ports (Agence Nationale des Ports)
